Have you ever had someone tell you that you’re looking for happiness in all the wrong places? If you have then you probably know now they were right. We go through our lives trying to fill them with things or people because we think that’s where the happiness is and in some ways that is true, however, if you’re not happy with yourself then happiness will never come from external sources.
What I have learned is that the first step to being happy with yourself is to be brutally honest with yourself about what you feel, think, and do. This process can hurt because you may see destructive behavior that you didn’t really notice or you may have to give someone up in your life who isn’t a good fit no matter how much you think you care for them.
If you’ve read my last two blogs you’ll see a pattern here of not wasting your time and living for now. Do you want to be happy tomorrow or do you want to be happy today? I’m not saying that the pursuit of happiness is something that can come overnight, but the sooner you’re honest with yourself the sooner that internal happiness will come. Once you’ve found that you can begin to be happy with others.
I’m going to keep this one short so if the message I’ve put out there is something you needed, you can get to finding your internal happiness sooner and not have to read anymore of my silly words. Cheers.
